Programme outline (Profile)

Since September 2020 the traditional "Minor Research Project" (a second internship, usually 6 months) has been replaced by the General Research Profile. This profile still allows you to spend most of the time doing experimental research in a laboratory. Any high-profile research group in the world can be approached for such an internship. The final approval of your internship lies with the Master's programme coordinator, as well as the Board of Examiners and the International Office (in case you go abroad). An Examiner from Utrecht is needed when the internship is performed elsewhere.

As an alternative to this Research Profile, you can also decide to spend your second year doing one of the other Profiles of the GSLS. During the introduction week of the GSLS (ILS), at the beginning of your Master's, you will hear more about these Profiles.
